"It is the cornerstone, the foundation of one's either success or lack thereof. And what does that mean? It means to a person, each successful individual I studied had most importantly, a flexible mindset."
Brian Kelly is an entrepreneur and host of the Mind Body Business Show, who has studied successful entrepreneurs and identified the three pillars of success: mindset, body, and business. He believes that building personal relationships is the common denominator for success in any business.
After studying successful entrepreneurs, Brian found that a flexible mindset, physical and nutritional health, and mastering various skill sets were the commonalities among them. He learned the importance of building personal relationships and found that the long-term relationships he built had both a professional and personal payoff. He passed along the importance of being honest and upfront in communication and of helping others, regardless of what one may get in return. Brian discovered that the key to success was in the relationships.
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. What are the three pillars of success shared by successful entrepreneurs?
2. How can building personal relationships be a successful marketing approach?
3. How can entrepreneurs reach out to potential customers in an effective way?

All right, Brian, thanks for joining us today. From guessing, possibly sunny Los Angeles, but maybe not at the moment. It's sunny. Yes, wonderful.
[00:00:08]
Paul: In studying successful entrepreneurs, I found three pillars of success. One was the mindset. Another was taking care of themselves physically and nutritionally. Third was business multi multifaceted. All you need to do is find one recipe for success.
[00:02:27]
Flexibility, having the flexibility to shift one's mindset as quickly as possible from that negative emotion into something that better serves you. You can either let circumstances control your attitude or you can let your attitude dictate your circumstances.
[00:03:42]
Not every successful entrepreneur is a good mentor. You want somebody that you know internally, deeply my mentor. Be very discerning when you choose a mentor.
[00:06:50]
And you mentioned earlier you touched on values, and I think that's important. Is it that we find people who have similar values? Because otherwise, I've always said to people, if you compromise a value, that's like a kick in the gut every time.
[00:07:30]
What used to work ten years ago doesn't necessarily work now. With one exception, the common denominator that has worked every year is building personal relationships. Now we're at a point where speaking but on camera has also become a very good form of marketing.
[00:09:02]
What is working right now? And that means being on a live video show or a podcast. It's about showing up and getting exposure that way. That is the number one marketing approach I have seen and witnessed.
[00:09:51]
When I have a guest on my show, they're typically strategically picked that maybe and in the future I could do business with them. It's about getting to know them, period. If you go about it without the transactional attitude, in my own opinion, then you can build that deeper relationship.
[00:14:44]
The first thing when you talk to somebody, I forget the icebreaker. First, you need to do X-Y-Z. It's the message that is gold. The next step is to build that relationship. And it's through direct messaging.
[00:17:36]
Live video is a great way to get exposure for a real estate investor. It's a different dynamic with live. There isn't as much pressure to really bring great value live. Not everybody is going to like you, sorry to tell you.
[00:21:25]
When you're feeling that feeling, that kind of feeling right there, that fear is usually something telling you that it's what you should be doing. Start shooting shows right now. Know that you will probably suck in the beginning. But don't let any of this deter you. Every show you do, you get better.
[00:24:30]
Brian, when you go live, do you put that out to multiple at the same time? Live, yes. For me, the main goal is massive exposure. I focus everything I've got on my guest.
[00:25:52]
A high-quality professional live video show. I have a massive amount of automation built in. Most of that is for communicating with the guest leading up to the show. Then the post-show processing. I've come across three companies in the last six months that have all transformed how I'm producing my podcast.
[00:30:37]
Paul: I've done this show for a long time, my own show. He developed an agency model where you do it for them. All manually, zero automation. The only thing the person has to do is be present and focus on the guest. The results are phenomenal.
[00:35:03]
Some real estate investors do things like Zoom Webinars or even now we're coming out of the other side of the pandemic is doing live events again. Are you talking more about a kind of one on one studio interview type of setup or do all three?
[00:37:10]
Grant Cardone is a favorite personal brand because he is authentic as a human can be. Peak Connector is a CRM on steroids. Do you have a recommended book or podcast?
[00:41:04]
Brian Kelly: Do you have a favorite quote or a quote that inspires you or motivates you? The one thing I learned is this one thing and that is never ever giving up. How can people find out more about you? Lots of ways.
[00:43:22]
The Peak Club is free to join, with no monthly fee. The enterprise version includes 500-seat meetings, 500-seat webinars, and unlimited recording to the cloud. For anyone who enters, I added this too. You'll get a hotel discount card.
[00:45:05]
Carol Costello: If your son is looking to have a web presence, there's a company out of Oregon called Carrot. They write an SEO article for you every week. It's all geared towards cash, buying homes for cash. What about a real estate mentor? How can I help you?
[00:49:07]
As soon as I changed the name, audience numbers went up. That's something I've also heard about, is the importance of the name. There are other resources out there. It's not about the vanity number.
[00:49:43]
When you bring on a guest, as they're coming on, they get the option to choose amongst their own social media platforms. StreamYard has just eliminated a big headache. There's a new feature coming out, brother. You got to get on this live video thing.
